Korutla Town is Head Quarters for KORATLA assembly constituency of State Telangana, India and also one of the Municipalities and Mandals of Karimnagar District. Located between two districts capital cities Karimnagar and Nizamabad, on National highway 16, Neighborhood towns are Jagityal(22Kms) and Metpally(10Kms). Korutla is also called Koratla, It is always korutla when it is written in Telugu, and when written in English it is written both as Korutla and koratla. Telugu, Hindi and Urdu are widely spoken languages here. Textiles Trading is major business, Most of the families are engaged in Beedies Making, and many men of here work in Gulf countries, so that inflow from non resident Indians working in the gulf is also high

ఇంతకుముందు ఈ వూరి పేరు "కొరవట్టు" లేదా "కొరవట్లు" అనీ, నిజా పాలన కాలంలో "కోరుట్ల"గా రూపాంతరం చెందిందనీ అంటారు. కోరుట్ల కోనేరులో క్రీ.శ.1042-1068 కాలంనాటి శిలాశాసనం లభించింది.
దీని ప్రకారం కోరుట్లకు వేయి సంవత్సరాల పైబడి చరిత్ర ఉన్నదని తెలుస్తుంది. జైనులు, కళ్యాణి చాళుక్యులు , వేములవాడ చాళుక్యులు , రాష్ట్రకూటులు ఈ ప్రాంతాన్ని వివిధ దశలలో పాలించారు.
